Random Stuff Growing on Rocks

Hooray for random stuff growing on rocks!!! Who knew a couple dead leaves, a few blades of grass, and some moss could look this interesting? The only thing I don't like about this is the background. Green grass would've been much better. But, it still turned out pretty good.

Spring Blooms

Finally, spring is here!!! I've been waiting since March for this. So, the first blooms or blossoms or whatever you want to call them; it's my favorite time of year. It's nice to see a splash of green after eight months of snow.

For the Not Even Close to Last Time... My Cousin

"I was just walking around, when all of a sudden I was hit in the face with a stuffed cheetah!!!" Yeah, sorry about that cousin... I'll admit that this picture doesnt have the most flattering background, but it just captures 'one of those moments'. I dont think I could get this shot, or anything close to it, again anytime soon.

Sunset

The sunset!!! My first sunset picture I've ever taken. I know its not a bunch of different colours like most sunset pictures, but there is nice orange and yellow tones. Also, the trees are illuminated nicely. They aren't just silhouettes, there is actually some detail. The main thing, though, is the colour. On the left side, there is a cloud and is kind of mutes the yellow and makes it look cool.

Looking at Himself

He's in a tree. Looking down. At himself. This is one really cool thing about panoramas; the same person can be shown up to three times (with my camera) in one picture. I could only get him twice in this one though, because he couldn't climb any higher in the tree. Basically, how this works (on my camera) is you take the first picture, and then a chunk of it stays on the screen so you can line it up for the second picture, and same for the third. This is the reason I like panoramas so much; they allow you to include more than one of the subject without editing.

Moon

I have recently discovered night shots. There is a setting called 'long term exposure' and it basically keeps the aperture open for however long you set it to. For this picture, the aperture was kept open for eight seconds. This allows you to capture dark scenes and making them appear almost as if it's daytime. The moon wasn't that bright when I took this. I could barely see the trees, but you can see them clearly with the long term exposure. I like how they are just a shadow, and have no colour. The 'rainbow ring' around the moon is pretty cool as well.

Pussy Willow

I absolutely love the lighting in this one. It seems like the sun is setting in the bottom right, but the light blue part of the sky indicates that it's not. The lighting on the pussy willow also indicates sunset, but again, there's the bright blue part of the sky. It's an interesting contradiction, and all of the contradiction is in the background, which i find very cool- looking.
